The striker joined Arsenal from Sporting in July

Gunners striker Viktor Gyokeres was left out in the new manager's first Sweden squad, while Reds forward Alexander Isak secured inclusion

Gyokeres is scheduled for further assessments in the coming days following worries of a muscle problem in Arsenal's English top flight win against Burnley last weekend

Gyokeres sat out the Gunners' Champions League victory versus the Czech side on Tuesday

Alexander Isak Makes Comeback

Isak, absent from action since 22 October because of a groin injury, was selected for World Cup qualifying fixtures versus the Swiss team (15 November) plus Slovenia (18 November)

Other Premier League Call-ups

  • Spurs playmaker Lucas Bergvall, who is recovering from a head injury
  • Newcastle winger the Swedish international

Both athletes feature in the England-based players selected by ex- Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham coach the new Swedish coach

Potter's Appointment

Potter was appointed the Swedish federation first temporarily on 20 October, less than four weeks following he was dismissed from the Hammers

Former boss Jon Dahl Tomasson was fired after the national team's setback against Kosovo in mid-October, an outcome which rendered direct progression in Group B impossible

Present Position

The Swedish team find themselves last place in their qualifying group having just a single point in their opening four games

Should they don't manage to secure second place, there remains a chance they might participate in the qualification playoffs as a result of their performance in the most recent Nations League
