The Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Meeting With defending champion Dodgers
Springer contributed to the Houston Astros securing the championship in 2017.
The Toronto Blue Jays reached their maiden World Series since the 1993 season by beating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive seventh game of the ALCS.
Down three runs to one, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run blast in the seventh frame, leading the sole Canadian team in Major League Baseball to a four games to three win in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, holders of the reigning title, in the anticipated Fall Classic.
"I'm thrilled for our team, Toronto, the nation," Springer stated, a star of the Astros team that won the 2017 championship. "It's truly an amazing experience."
George Springer has now connected for twenty-three October home runs, ranking him third in history trailing only Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (27).
"It's hard to imagine another person in the world that I'd choose in that moment other than him with his October magic," remarked Schneider.
Seattle's team, who had led the early in the series, are still the one club yet to make an appearance in a World Series.
Wilson stated "certainly that it's painful" following his club's elimination at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but applauded their work in the campaign.
"They're an exceptional squad. Unfortunately that we had to come out on the wrong side of this one," he added.
Toronto's team claimed the title on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and '93, and are set to host the Los Angeles in game one on the upcoming Friday.
